A thread-lift ( feather lift surgery) is a delicate cosmetic treatment to gently lift sagging facial skin to produce a youthful and smoother appearance. It includes very fine surgical sutures (which is being inserted into the soft tissue of the face)to lift and support sagging areas of the skin. It cannot offer the same results as a full face lift but is a good option for a more subtle rejuvenation.
Age criteria :
Those who experience mild to moderate sagging of facial tissues and the people in their mid-thirties to fifties are the suitable candidates for thread lift treatment.
To lift and tighten the skin, a thread lift procedure uses different types of suture threads. This process reduces jowling along the jawline and helps to raise the outer brow area. Along with this, the treatment reduces sagging in the cheeks, Nasolabial (nose to mouth) folds and the lower eye areas.
In Thread Lift Treatment, The patients need to set their expectations with a cosmetic surgeon before commencing the procedures. During surgery, at various points, small 1-2mm incisions will be applied on the face. To put the threads in place, a hollow needle is inserted into the skin. Then the threads are attached to the fat underneath the skin, and will then be adjusted to tighten and smoothen the contours of the face. The excess thread is trimmed so it does not appear above the skin surface. A thread lift procedure takes around 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the number of areas being treated and the type of threads used.
